REFRESHING INTERIORS: THE COLOR TRENDS FOR 2023

The Power Is In The Paint

A fresh lick of paint is one of the ways you can spruce up a property and take it from looking well-loved to feeling brand-new with only a small amount of effort.

With hundreds of paint swatches available at hardware stores these days, it can be hard to figure out which one is going to give a home the perfect vibe and not miss the mark. Luckily for us, Benjamin Moore have released their 2023 Color Trends Palette, to make life easier when picking the perfect hue.

For real estate professionals, your clients may ask you if it's worth repainting before selling or leasing their home to increase the value. Whether they want to go all out and completely revamp the property, or just test the waters with an accent wall, this blog will help you to recommend a shade that’s attractive and on trend.

The same goes for Virtual Renovation – the next time you submit a virtual reno job with us, keep in mind the trending colors palette, so that you’ll be well on the way to showing an outdated property to its full potential.

The Color Forecast For 2023

Interior design experts are predicting that this year’s color forecast is warm and vibrant with an earthy edge. Andrea Magno, the color marketing and development coordinator at Benjamin Moore, says that people are ready to “step outside their comfort zone” and “bring color back into the home".

The way we are going to be using color is going to change as well. No longer will we focus on just painting the walls; color can enhance a space in a multitude of ways, even in just small amounts on wall trimmings or window and door frames.

Set The Right Tone with These 8 Trending Colors

Staying up to date with what’s trending in the interior design world is useful and can come in very handy when staging a property. Considering the latest design trends is important when you are trying to create a desirable space for buyers. This knowledge also becomes valuable when a client wants to add a bold pop of color to bring out their home’s personality or you’re marketing a home that’s in need of a virtual reno.

Stay in the know and explore the color trends of 2023, according to the experts at Benjamin Moore – this year, a palette of vibrant shades has been handpicked for you and it’s a great resource to draw from when you're stuck for inspiration.

In the middle of a property refresh and unsure of what color would suit your listing? Before you start covering up the furniture and getting out the paint rollers, you can take a color for a test drive with our color change add-on option with Image Enhancement and Virtual Renovation edits!

Raspberry Blush

Keep it fresh with Raspberry Blush. Benjamin Moore’s 2023 Color of the Year is a bold blend of red and orange that certainly makes a statement. To get acquainted with this vibrant coral color, add it to smaller spaces like an accent wall or archway.

Wenge is wild with drama. Rich and engaging, this deep chocolate brown will bring a velvety tinge to any space. Whether it’s used on all four walls or as an accent color, this shade will amp up the drama.

For a unique look, add Wenge to ceiling beams, as shown in this stunning virtual staging and color-change edit created by our editors.

North Sea Green

Ride the moody wave of North Sea Green. This beautiful, simmering shade is ready to add a unique twist to any room. Create an ocean-inspired bedroom oasis or add a touch of drama and contrast to a modern kitchen.

Cinnamon

Add a spice of Cinnamon to a space. Warm and inviting, this brown shade with undertones of orange is ready to add a touch of coziness to any room.

Cinnamon is a bridge between neutral and warm tones – an ideal accent shade for this bedroom.

Conch Shell

Conch Shell, a color to comfort and charm. Bring a touch of romance to any space with this gentle dusty pink color. Use it in walk-in closets or powder rooms for a calming vibe.

This image has had the wall color-changed by our team of editors, to show off how Conch Shell can elevate a room.

Savannah Green

Make a statement with Savannah Green. This citrusy take on a traditional earthy green is oh-so versatile; whimsical in one space, dramatic in another.

We’ve used our color change edit to add Savannah Green as an accent shade, to create the perfect space to both relax and entertain.

It’s All About Balance

To accompany the color trends palette, Benjamin Moore has given us their top picks for neutral shades that will complement the pops of color beautifully.

  • Etiquette
  • White Heron
  • Gray Owl
  • Onyx

Update With a Repaint

A repaint with one of 2023’s trending colors is a great way to give the space a fresh, modern feel and help attract potential buyers or renters, without a full remodel. For properties that need a little bit of TLC, consider incorporating these shades into your next Virtual Renovation project to take it from looking drab to on-trend.
